James Threlfall

I am researching my family history and I am am having difficulty in tracing a relative who I believe was killed in the First World War. I have no knowledge of the Regiment he was in or where he served. His name is James Threlfall and was born in 1880 at Scarisbrick. In 1901 he was residing on Southport Road, Scarisbrick and employed as a Teamster. He was aged 20 at this time. On the 1901 census his name was down as Jas Threlfall, which could be a shortended version of James.

The early Threlfall family came from the North Meols area. My grandfather although born at Scarisbrick moved back into North Meols and was a police constable in the Southport Borough Force. My father was born in Old Park Lane, Southport. I have checked the cwgc. web site and can find no trace of James. I have also checked other web sites including BMG but can find no trace of his death. I was wondering whether you have any means of checking records of those killed in the FWW who were from North Meols, or whether there is any record of his, maybe in the Church of St Cuthbert, Churchtown?
